John ‘braves the shave’ for Macmillan

After months of fundraising, our Human Resources Manager John Geary has shaved his head to raise £1,250 for Macmillan Cancer Support!

John was inspired to raise money for the charity after both of his parents were cared for by Macmillan nurses during their fight with the awful disease.
“Macmillan and Marie Curie were amazing in looking after my Mum & Dad.” John says on his donation page, “And they also supported me and my two siblings through this dark and emotional time.”

Sean employed after Apprenticeship Programme

I started my apprenticeship in the Corporate Finance Team of 3BM, in October 2014, with no working experience and I was extremely anxious about what to expect. However, the support and patience I received from my colleagues helped me feel more comfortable and I settled very quickly. After being trained and shown how to perform the tasks needed of me as an apprentice, I instantly felt like part of the team and that my role had a purpose.

Being at 3BM has not only taught me skills specific to my role, but it has also taught me about the working life, which is what I wanted to gain out of my apprenticeship.

I’ve always known that I’ve wanted to work and 3BM gave me the chance to start my career which I am very grateful for.

 


Launch of Moral DNA Study on EO Companies

Andy Rennison, MD of 3BM, attended the official launch of the Moral DNA Study today, hosted by Field Fisher.

The study was conducted on the Moral DNA of Employee Owned Companies in regards to their ownership, ethics and performance. 3BM were one of the many case studies who took part.

The report details the improved commitment and customer satisfaction and way people behave towards each other in employee owned (EO) companies.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2015

3BM again took part in the Annual Macmillan Coffee Morning today. It was a great opportunity for our staff to come together for a slice of cake and a coffee, whilst raising money for cancer support.

The event raised an impressive £291!

100% of our schools would recommend us!

3BM undertook a client feedback survey in June / July and are delighted that all would recommend us to other schools. More than half of 3BM supported schools completed the survey. We asked them what they thought of the overall quality of the various services and had stunning results. c80% of schools rated the service(s) they have as being excellent, with virtually all others rating us as good.

As a thank you for participation, we offered £50 for the most useful feedback, with the winner being: Lady Margaret School, LBHF.

We will not be sitting on our laurels of course! We continue to develop our offer further and are striving to provide a greater portfolio of services as we build the Mutual. This year we have expanded from c50 to 75 staff to ensure we can be the best.

A huge thank you to the continuing support from our schools!


3BM sponsors youngsters football team

Kinetic Coaching is a charity that works with youngsters in London to help them develop and realise their potential through sport. To assist  Kinetic Coaching, we have supported one of their football teams as part of our wider community support programme.

3BM are admirers of Kinetic Coaching’s work with young people, which they do through partnerships with schools.  Their drive as an organisation is to expand their offer to support many more sports to help improve children’s experiences.

Last week, the football team competed in the finals of an international event in Sweden, achieving great success and only succumbing at the final stages to Japan (after beating the host team, France and Brazil).  We are very proud of the boys and their efforts. Aaron one of their current year 10 players is modelling their new kit.


EO Day 2015

Friday 3rd July is the third Employee Owners Day and to mark this important day in the employee owned world, 3BM’s Managing Director, Andy Rennison, attended the launch of the preliminary findings of an interim research paper, published by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and MoralDNA™. The report details that Employee owned firms are leading the way when it comes to ethics and management culture, with more democratic management cultures, high levels of employee motivation and a longer-term approach to business decisions. Supported by eaga Trust and Fieldfisher, the report was discussed at a roundtable event on employee ownership, better performance and good management and how they interact, hosted by Graeme Nuttall, OBE.

The 3rd July, 2015 will see the third Employee Ownership Day celebrated by members of the Employee Ownership Association (EOA).

Representatives from 3BM, along with a number of other members will take part in roundtable discussions on employee ownership, better performance, and good management.
